2014 was a very good year for the Community. There was significant activity in all the subgroups. Dr. Pang was recognized with the Wiley Award and his method for 653 Pesticides in Tea was approved for First Action. Katerina Mastovska, Wendy Sorenson and Jana Hajslova's method for PAH's in Seafood was approved for First Action. The Collaborative Study for Dyes in Seafood (2012.25) was completed and an SLV for chloramphenicol and nitrofurans in shrimp is being submitter for publication. The Metals group has a method ready to present to an ERP for Total As, Cd, Pb and Hg. In addition, our chair, Katerina Mastovska was recognized as a Fellow of AOAC.

- AOAC 998.12 (C-4 Plant Sugars in Honey) method – Karyne Rogers, National Isotope Center, New Zealand and Lutz ElFlein, Intertek Food Services GmbH, Germany and the European Honey Commission are working on methodologies for authenticity of honey. The AOAC Official Methods Board does not intend to modify this method until further data is available.
