Florida Pesticide Residue Workshop

to become the North American Chemical Residue Workshop in 2013

FLAG Works, Inc sponsors the Florida Pesticide Residue Workshop (FPRW), which conducts annual meetings for scientists particularly interested in trace level analysis of pesticides, veterinary drug residues, and other chemicals in food, animal feed, and environmental samples.  The purpose of the meeting is to provide training, develop and improve technical knowledge, facilitate development and distribution of new analysis methods and techniques, and establish networking to promote professional cooperation between scientists of these interests.  While the majority of attendees are from North America, important international speakers are always included in the Technical Program, and attendance of scientists from Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, and Africa is increasing annually.

(FPRW) will be held July 15-18, 2012, in St. Pete Beach, FL, at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort.  FLAG Works, Inc., a non-profit organization, sponsors the meeting, which has entered into an agreement with ACS (via the AGRO Division) to help plan and coordinate the event. 

FPRW is designed for scientists particularly interested in trace level analysis of pesticides, veterinary drug residues, and other chemicals in food, animal feed, and environmental samples.  The purpose of the meeting is to provide training, develop and improve technical knowledge, facilitate development and distribution of new analysis methods and techniques, and establish networking to promote professional cooperation between scientists of these interests.  While the majority of attendees are from North America, important international speakers are always included in the Technical Program, and attendance of scientists from Asia, Europe, South America, Australia, and Africa is increasing annually.

The meeting is expected to have approximately 250 to 300 attendees representing government, academia, and industries.  The program is designed for technical scientists and lab managers alike; interactive forums and daily poster and vendor sessions will be held. 

Poster sessions will be held each morning in the Exhibits area, and the poster receiving the most votes from the meeting participants will receive a prize.  The posters will be displayed from Mon. a.m. until Wed. noon during the meeting.  The posters and authors will be asked to stand by their posters for an hour each morning depending on their group.  The winner will be announced and prize given at the end of the meeting on Wed. p.m. Click here for poster instructions.

Vendor sessions are planned for Sun. evening (July 17) and during breakfasts and lunches each day during the event.  On-site registration will begin at 5 pm on Sun., July 17.

There are expected to be 30 to 40 exhibitors representing analytical instrument companies, laboratory and analytical standards suppliers, and analytical service laboratories.  The Exhibition will take from Monday. morning July 16 to Wednesday at noon on July 18.  

There are a limited number of slots available for talks and posters.  The deadline for oral presentation is May 2, 2012 and the poster deadlines is
June 1, 2012. The program committee will makedecisions on talks by mid-May 2012 and posters by mid-June 2012, at which time submitters should receive notifications.  Talks will be 15-25 min and poster boards will be 4 feet high by 6 feet wide.  Last minute poster submissions after the deadlines MAY BE allowed depending on availability.
